At just 14 years of age Darragh is already proving his pedigree in the sport of Motorcycle
racing having completed a successful 2009 season where he scored seven wins, and
fifteen podiums, and most importantly securing the 2009 Irish Clubmans Production
125 championship sponsored by North Dublin Motorcycles onboard his Aprilia.
Along
the way, this red hot form saw Darragh given the opportunity to ride a GP125 machine
in the Irish National championship. The diminutive young County Limerick School Boy
also dipped his Toes in to the UK Thundersport scene sampling the GP125 action at
Brands Hatch and Anglesey gaining him valuable experience of learning unfamiliar
circuits which will stand by him for future seasons.
The 2010 season will see Darragh begin the season in March at Almeria in Spain where he will receive some personalised technical race training from none other than ex MotoGP rider Jeremy McWilliams.
The main thrust of Darragh’s 2010 campaign will be make a strong impact on the Thundersport GB championship which receives UK wide Television coverage. The Thundersport championship is the natural stepping stone up to British championship level and Darragh will (date clashes and budget permitting) also aim to sample one or two British championship GP125 races.
To ensure Darragh stays sharp racing as often as possible, the youngster also hopes
to take in selected Irish national championship races as well as the high profile
Mondello Masters races. Further from home Darragh aims to also sample a Spanish CMV
championship meeting all with the aim of gaining more track time and more on-
If all goes to plan Darragh will have competed many racing miles against stiffer competition, adapted to new challenges and circuits and this should leave him in a great position to aim for the British 125 championship in the 2011 season.
